Our Story
The program of LIFE Art was developed in response to four suicides of Jackson County adolescents in 2009 and has grown to directly serve more than 200 adolescents. LIFE Art is proud to be helping teens overcome adversity and to this day, we are true to our mission by providing youth with a safe place to express themselves and to connect with others who can inspire and support them.
The primary mechanism of support is mentoring–both individual and group–embedded within a model of participatory leadership. Youth involved in LIFE Art receive individual and group mentoring, access to a youth arts based drop-in center, and many opportunities for leadership and community service.
